For Children, Tweens and Teens
The Hamburg Public Library welcomes children of all ages, but always the little ones. We have introduced the 1000 Books before Kindergarten program, and we continue to add to our collection of picture books, board books, and Easy Readers. The staff always enjoys handing out treats at City Hall at the Halloween Bash.
The library offers new and classic books for tweens and teens in our Junior Fiction and Young Adult sections, including many series books. For Middle Readers we have the Edgar and Ellen series by Charles Ogden, Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants series and Dog Man series, and Dear America biographies from the My Name is America series available for check out. And, we have the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson, The Underland Chronicles series by Suzanne Collins, and The Enemy series by Charlie Higson available for young adults, as well as Harry Potter.
A new opportunity for young readers is available on the Third Tuesday of each month. from 10-11 a.m. a special reading and activity time is being offered for children 3 to 5 years old. The Third Tuesday Storytime event includes a story or two and a craft.
Registration is not required, but it is helpful to know how many crafts need to be available.
